Add a wireless repeater. Wireless repeaters extend your wireless network range without requiring you to add any wiring. Just place the wireless repeater halfway between your wireless access point and your computer, and you'll get an instant boost to your wireless signal strength. Check out the wireless repeaters from ViewSonic, D-Link, Linksys, Buffalo Technology and Belkin.

It would also be better if your wireless repeater is the same brand as your wireless router. Some vendors offer a performance boost of up to twice the performance when you choose their hardware. (i.e.) Linksys has the SpeedBooster technology, and D-Link has the 108G enhancement.

Move the router off the floor and away from walls and metal objects. Metal, walls, and floors will interfere with your router's wireless signals. The closer your router is to these obstructions, the more severe the interference, and the weaker your connection will be.

Hope that helps! Good luck with setting it up..hehehe

Wireless Access Point is used to connect 802.11 devices to a network.

Repeaters take the signal that it receives from the computers and other devices on the LAN and regenerates the signal in order for the signal to maintain its integrity while traveling along a longer media run that is normally possible. In other words, they are simply devices that sit on the network and boost the data signal that they receive.

A wireless range extender works as a relay or network repeater, picking up and reflecting WiFi signals from a network's base router or access point. The network performance of devices connected through a range extender will generally be lower than if they were connected directly to the primary base station. Due to the nature of this technology, most wireless range extenders work only with a limited set of other equipment. You need to check the manufacturer's specifications carefully for compatiblity information.

This is how its usually setup.
